Several Coleg Cambria students have had the honour of representing Wales in various football competitions over this academic year.

A total of 11 Nomads players, have played for the Welsh squads representing Welsh Colleges Under 18s and 19s, Welsh Schools Under 18s and FAW (Football Association Wales) Academies playing against teams such as Australia, Scotland Colleges and England Independent Schools.

All who were fortunate enough to represent their country are currently studying A levels at Deeside Sixth or BTEC Level 3 Sport.

George Coulton, 18 from Prestatyn who captained at Welsh Colleges U18s and Welsh Schools U18s said:

‘It has been a great honour to represent my country on many occasions, but being asked to captain the teams was something that dreams are made of. That feeling when the national anthem starts sends shivers down my spine and is something that I will always cherish.”

Sean Regan, Head of Nomads Scholarship and Sports and Physical Education Lecturer said:

“It’s a great honour for so many of the lads from the club and college to represent their country this season. I am extremely proud of their achievements in particular George Coulton who was selected as captain for the squad for the season.”

Students from Coleg Cambria who represented Wales include Craig Chisholm, Conor Harwood, Joe Sullivan, Jake Van Schie, Jake Jones, George Coulton, Iwan Rogers, Samuel Haddon, Callum Cross and Jake Leonard.
