Access to Higher Education

Access to HE courses offer a one year route to degree level studies and are open to students with substantial life experiences outside of formal education, gained since completing school.

You can enrol on Access courses to help you return to learning and progress to Higher Education (HE) courses without other formal qualifications*. These courses will prepare you to study degree courses that can lead to a variety of careers, see the ‘Career Paths’ section for examples.

* Some vocational degree courses require GCSEs as well as the Access to HE Diploma.
