Work Related Experience.

Learners who have not achieved a grade C/4 in GCSE Mathematics and English will be expected to attend sessions to support this in addition to their vocational programme
This course requires continual assessment of College based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body.

Additionally externally set and marked online examinations will be scheduled at key stages throughout the course.
4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language) or successful completion of an equivalent qualification.

For all learners who are looking to progress onto this L1 course from Foundation Skills or Entry – you must have achieved your main qualification, progressed in Maths and English and hit all of the targets in your ILP.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
An increasing number of employers in the Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering industry now see the acquisition of relevant National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s)
Opportunities may exist to gain trainee employment in any of the following trade disciplines:

Fitting
Mechanical/Assembly
Electrical Engineering

Learners who gain employment may also, depending on conditions, offered by their employer, have the opportunity to progress to Level 2/3 Mechanical Engineering which would complete your apprenticeship.
