Course Overview
It offers learners a broad introduction to, and develops knowledge and understanding of, the construction and built environment sectors. All learners will complete six mandatory core units which will cover an introduction to the construction and built environment sectors, employment & employability skills and health and safety. In addition to the mandatory core units, learners will work towards learning about two trade areas one of which will be Plumbing & Heating. The qualification equips learners with a broad, cross-cutting understanding of the sector, enabling them to make informed decisions about their own development.

Successful completion of Level 1 Plumbing
The qualification provides sufficient knowledge for learners to progress into an apprenticeship in their choice of trade. On successful completion, learners who do not have an apprenticeship, may wish to continue on the Progression qualification full-time course.
The course is free for full-time students. Students will be required to purchase a reference book for the courses; the details of which will be made available to all students prior to the courses starting. Students will need to purchase workwear (work pants, polo-shirt and/or sweatshirt). Students will also need to have safety footwear for all practical sessions.
