There may also be the opportunity to take some sports leadership awards and coaching qualifications throughout the course. All learners will be expected to improve their literacy and numeracy skills.
All units are assessed and graded with an overall grade for the units being awarded as a pass, merit or distinction. Students are also expected to complete the necessary guided learning hours for this qualification. You may be assessed in the following ways; written assignments, presentations, practical performance, the delivery of coaching sessions and professional discussions.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths.

For progression learners a Level 2 Diploma in a relevant subject at Merit level with GCSEs in Maths and English Language.

An active interest in sports participation, coaching or officiating is a compulsory requirement for all applicants

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Students achieving the second year of the programme (The Extended Diploma in Sport) will be able to further their academic study within Higher Education institutions. Foundation degrees in sport are also available at the college. Alternatively students may find employment in the sports/recreation/leisure industry e.g. sports coaching, health and fitness, HM forces, Police, Fire Service.
