Course Overview
This qualification is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles.

On this course you will study topics including:

Listening skills
Establishing boundaries
Self awareness
Ethical practice
Reflective practice


This qualification is for:
• Those who have successfully achieved the CPCAB in Counselling Skills level 2.
• Those who want to develop counselling skills.
• Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.
A grading scale of pass only. Learning outcomes are assessed through portfolio work and observation. There will also be an externally marked controlled assessment.
Learners will need to complete the level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling Skills and the ability to complete written assignments is essential. Applicants must be 18 or over.

All students will need a telephone interview with phillip.llwyd-evans@cambria.ac.uk.
This course can provide additional skills for those already in employment and may lead to increased opportunities for promotion and advancement. You may have the opportunity to continue with a career in counselling through progression on to a level 3 counselling course, however, in order to practice counselling, you will need to have achieved a level 4 qualification.
£500 includes the exam fee (if you do not pass/sit your exam then you will need to pay the next exam fee (approx. £160).

Learners may be able to access funding for this course:

Learners will be required to evidence that they:
1. live in Wales,
2. are over 19 years of age and
3. earn under the salary threshold of £29,534.
