Course Overview
This course is aimed at developing skills for working within the Media make-up industry. Learners interested in the Level 2 Hair and Media Make Up will study theoretical aspects of the subject and apply them to practical tasks.
Interpersonal skills will be developed that will assist with effective communication with clients.
Throughout the course, learners will build a portfolio of their work which will be used as assessment evidence.
The programme provides the skills and personal qualities that employers and Higher Education Institutions require.
An example of some of the units you will study are:
● Photographic makeup
● Face and body painting
● Lash and brow treatments
● Dressing and styling hair
In addition to the Level 2 qualification, the learning area programme consists of the following:
● GCSE in English & Maths or Essential Skills Wales
● Development of Welsh language skills, through Welsh in the workplace
●All learners must complete a weeks Work Placement. Learners are required to source their own placement. Dates will be issued in induction.

Progression routes for learners will be to L3 Diploma in Theatrical Special Effects and Media Make Up or to work in the creative makeup artistry sector.
