Duration | Full Time, This is a 1 year full time course.The Access course delivery is a credit based, modular course which can be studied full time over a period of one year (34 academic weeks) running from September to June . The course runs (usually over 4 days) 9.15am – 2.30pm.An important aspect of this programme is your own personal time management and it is crucial that you plan ahead in regards to your allocation of both in class and independent studies, having such a plan in place will support you and your success. |

Course Overview
The Diploma aims to prepare learners for study at university in a range of degrees such as Primary Teaching with QTS** , Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, History, English along with many more . The course comprises of a range of subjects together with Core Skills Studies. The modules may include Psychology, Sociology, History, Media and English. This will be advised by tutor. The Core Skills include Communication, Study Skills and Numeracy.
The programme is achieved by continuous assessment, the majority of which is assignment work with some experience of timed tests or examination situations. Credits are achieved on satisfactory completion of each unit of study. To be awarded an Access to HE Diploma, 60 credits must be achieved, which include a number of mandatory credits. Level 3 credits are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction. On successful completion of the full programme of study students are awarded the Agored Cymru ‘QAA – recognised’ Access to H.E. Diploma.
GCSE grade C/4 in English/ Welsh (1st Language) or Maths, with at least grade D/3 in the other subject.

Level 2 AON or Communication, with at least Level 1 in the other subject.
Experience in a suitable Health Care setting is preferred. Applicants should be 19+ to study this course.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact individual universities for information about entry requirements. Many teaching degree courses ask for GCSEs at B/5 in maths, English and Science.
You may be advised to enrol on the Skills for Further Study course prior to starting the Access course. This programme allows the opportunity to take a GCSE in either Maths or English.
