Year 2
● Applied Coaching Skills

● Practical Sports Application

Additional qualifications and training are made available to learners over the duration of the two year course:

● National Governing Body Level 1 coaching awards in a variety of sports
● Sports Leaders UK Level 2 Community Sports Leaders Award
● First Aid
● Safeguarding
The course comprises internally assessed units. Assessment will be in the form of written assignments, presentations, practical sports performance, the delivery of coaching sessions and successful work experience.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language).

Alternatively a Level 2 Diploma in a relevant subject with GCSEs in Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language).

Active participation in sport as a performer, coach or official outside of college hours is a compulsory requirement.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Following completion of the two year Extended Diploma learners are able to progress to further their academic study at university. The two year course can attract up to 168 UCAS points.

Alternatively students may find direct entry to employment in the sports and active leisure industry.
