The course requires continual assessment of college based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body.

Essential Skills will be continually assessed through the duration of the course.

This qualification can develop the skills you need to start to progress towards an Apprenticeship. Many employers recognise the skills, knowledge and behavioural skills gained on completion of this programme, to allow progression into employment.

An increasing number of employers in the Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering industry now see the acquisition of relevant National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s)
Opportunities may exist to gain trainee employment in any of the following trade disciplines:
● Fitting
● Machinists
● Mechanical/Assembly

Learners who gain employment may also, depending on conditions offered by their employer, have the opportunity to progress to our higher levels in Engineering which would complete your apprenticeship.
