Students will study a number of specialist units such as Mechanical, Pneumatic and CNC units which support this programme.

2850-301 - Engineering health and safety
2850-302 - Engineering principles
2850-307 - Principles of mechanical manufacturing engineering
2850-321 - Maintenance of pneumatic systems
2850-324 - Machining materials by milling
2850-326 - CNC machining of materials

Development of Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy Skills.

This is a multi-discipline engineering programme which covers the necessary engineering skills and knowledge for students wanting to work in engineering. It supports students wanting to gain an apprenticeship in the engineering manufacturing or maintenance and commissioning industry.
A combination of assignment work, practical tasks and short answer internal and external examinations.

Essential Skills will be continually assessed through the duration of the course.
Successful completion of a relevant full time Intermediate/Enhanced/Level 2 Engineering programme and associated Essential Skills.

Students have a mandatory requirement to have a minimum of GCSE grade C/4 in English/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
For those wanting to work in engineering, it provides the opportunity to work in a multi-discipline area, such as mechanical maintenance helping to support the production industry’s maintenance programmes or as a machinist working on manufacturing production machines.
Some courses may require equipment and/or uniforms to be purchased. Please see attached equipment list for further information.
