Our dog grooming course is the first step to becoming a dog groomer or building on an existing career in the industry. Your training will focus on the principles and practices of modern dog grooming techniques.
You will work with a number of breeds and coat types including smooth, short, combination, wool, silky, double, drop and wire, ensuring you will be able to prepare them for styling. You will develop skills in hand strip, basic scissoring techniques and basic clipping techniques as part of this course.

The salon is well equipped, with some of the industries most popular tools of the trade. You will need a logoed grooming jacket - please see the kit list.

Each year we visit the world's largest dog show ‘Crufts’, where you can visit ‘Discover dogs’ or trade stands at the NEC.

Additionally you will be required to attend training days including Canine First Aid.
Assessments will be both practical and theory based for all units. The course will also include an exam.
A portfolio of evidence will be collated.
