5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above.
Music (A*/9 – B/6 grade preferred) or Grade 5 Theory.
Grade 4 practical or higher pass required in at least one instrument or approval from Course Team.
Where a student does not have paper qualifications they must meet Tim Jones (Yale)/Tim Heeley (Deeside) to discuss. We are aware that some students will not have had the opportunity to complete GCSE Music prior to commencing their A levels. Students need to arrange to receive individual instrumental/vocal tuition as performance is an essential element of the course.
Should an A level applicant have or be predicted a grade D/3 in either GCSE Maths or English (and at least a grade C/4 in the other subject) then your application will be considered.
At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
