Course Overview
The Level 3 Awards in Advanced Welding Skills are ideal if you have, or are working within the welding industry, and have been for some time and you have plenty of experience. This course will develop your skills further so that you can undertake complex welding work, coding’s and quality control. For enrolment purposes you must possess a high level of welding skills or have successfully completed a level 2 welding discipline in the same process.
There are nine single unit qualifications available at this level. To gain one of these qualifications you must successfully complete five practical assignments and an on-line knowledge test. Recommended learning hours are a minimum of 90 hours practical and can take place over an academic year from September to June. Additional to this 10 hours of theoretical work will be required alongside self-study.

● Level 3 Award in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding - Pipe
● Level 3 Award in Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) Welding - Sheet

Students need to be literate, numerate and have good communication skills. Must have completed a relevant level 2.
This qualification is achieved through a mixture of practical assignments and online/written exams.
Successful candidates can progress into Higher Education, employment or and Apprenticeship.
