Course Overview
This qualification provides in depth information about the role of the level 3 playworker.
The diploma covers the knowledge and skills needed when working unsupervised and requires the learner to demonstrate these in the workplace.
It is aimed at experienced playworkers who have an appreciation of the playwork principles and practice.

This qualification is designed for learners who work or wish to work with children between the ages of 4 and 16 in playwork settings.
Learners should be at least 18 years old.
Those wishing to access this qualification must be working in a relevant work setting and have the motivation to succeed in what is largely a learner driven qualification.

Learners are required to successfully achieve 53 credits: 43 credits from the 13 mandatory units and a further 10 credits from the optional units.
Assessment includes observations by a qualified Work Based Learning Practitioner in a relevant work setting. Assessment methods are related to vocational competence, that is, assessing how well the learner carries out the duties of their role against specific criteria and values.
Each learner will be assigned a Work Based Learning Practitioner who will observe them at regular intervals in the workplace performing their job role. These observations will be supplemented by oral and written questioning and reflective accounts by the learner.
