Course Overview
Our Creative Media Diploma offers a multi-disciplinary practice based programme of study, that will challenge and develop the skills required to proceed into self-employment or higher programmes of study such as degrees.
You will develop multiple practical skills during the initial Boot Camp and work through 7 core units before specialising in your chosen area of study such as filmmaking, video editing, script writing, content creation, animation, photography, games design, digital illustration, graphic design, digital print media or podcast production.
You will create meaningful media for different audiences across multiple platforms, making use of our green screen room, film studio, photography studio, animation area and radio suite.
You will also work in our Mac based studios using industry standard software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Logic Pro.
Who is this course for?
Anyone wishing to work in the media industry as a freelance content creator or advance to further Media study at Degree level would benefit from this course.
You do not need prior media experience but an interest in media is essential. You also need to enjoy working with others, have the ability to develop your own creative ideas and be an independent learner.
What will I study?
This course will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the media industry and enables you to focus on a specialist area after an initial introduction to a wide range of disciplines. Students who successfully complete this course will gain the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology

This is a coursework based qualification and there are therefore no formal exams.
You will be assessed throughout the year against a set criteria given to you prior to the undertaking of each unit.
All work is internally assessed before marks are sampled and verified by a visiting moderator.

5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language).
For Progression learners a completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification.
At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.

The Level 3 Extended Diploma enables direct entry to University if the desired final grade is achieved.
