Course Overview
The Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy will further develop your skills, knowledge and understanding in a wide range of advanced beauty treatments and services. There will be opportunities to compete locally and nationally in prestigious beauty competitions.

You will develop a range of technical skills including the use and application of electrical equipment using a variety of different techniques, tanning services and nail technology.

Interpersonal skills will also be developed to enable learners to communicate effectively with clients.

Throughout the course, learners will build a portfolio of their work which will be used as assessment evidence and work on clients to manage time effectively whilst running a column.

The programme provides the skills and personal qualities that employers and Higher Education Institutions require.

In addition to the Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification, you will also complete the following;

● Essential Skills Wales
● Development of Welsh language skills, through Welsh in the workplace.
● All learners must attend a work placement.
Coursework is by continuous assessment and learners can gain a Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Successful completion of the Level 2 Beauty Therapy qualification.


Progression routes for learners will be to HE, part time Level 4 In Advanced Beauty Therapy, or practical Level 4 in Skin Needling or Chemical Peels or to work within the Spa and Beauty Therapy sector.

Learners wishing to progress to HE will require sufficient UCAS points for postgraduate study. Career opportunities are available through employment in Spas, Clinics, Cruise liners, Hotels and Salons.
