Course Overview
This course will help you develop your Servicing and Repair skills and is also appropriate for those following Foundation Modern Apprenticeship programmes. You will learn about Engine Systems (fuel, cooling, ignition, air and exhaust), Chassis (steering, suspension, brakes and bodywork), Transmission (clutch, gearbox and final drive), Electrical Systems (battery, start, charge and lighting) and Health and Safety.
Learners who have not achieved grade C/4 in GCSE Mathematics and English will be expected to attend sessions to support this in addition to their vocational programme.

Practical activities will be assessed in a realistic working environment. Knowledge will be tested by short written assignments and multi-choice questions and answers. Practical assessments will be carried out during workshop activities.
Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification.
Employment in the Motor Vehicle industry.
NVQ Level 2/3 Vehicle Technician.
Diploma in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (Light Vehicle) Level 3.
