Course Overview
This is a course that offers a chance to understand a broad range of subject areas within business, that will support learners in gaining employment , applying for an apprenticeship or to go on to study further on our Level 3 Business (Enterprise and Entrepreneurship) course.
This course is an amazing opportunity to gain knowledge and skills that learners will need in their career and an excellent platform for Level 3 Business. Learners will meet a variety of business owners, managers and employees of local small, medium and large businesses, who will talk about how the theory works in real businesses and what it is like working in the world of business.
This course focuses on studying across a range of subject areas, with some mandatory units such as Business, Finance and Marketing, (Exam Units), as well as other key business units such as;
Small Business Planning
Working within a Team
Investigating Customer Service
as well as other units that offer a broad introduction into the world of business; as well as offering valuable life skills.

Assessment is undertaken across a range of learning activities from creating vlogs and delivering presentations to writing assignments.
It also includes planning of running a business, as well as taking part in team exercises and working as part of a team, which allows for hands-on experience, as well as developing key social skills that are needed in life.

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language).

Completion of this course could lead to a wide range of business-related job vacancies.
Most of these vacancies become available through our college Job Shop and they also offer support in developing CVs and interview techniques to give the best chance to secure a job, an apprenticeship or to work towards gaining a level 3 place within the college.
On successful completion of this course, there will be the opportunity to apply for the Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Business (Enterprise and Entrepreneurship), which will be a natural progression route to Higher Apprenticeships as well as providing an opportunity to progress to University, after completing Level 3.
