Course Overview
Information Technology is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK. This course will develop your skills in IT and Digital Technologies, giving you the skills and knowledge needed to progress from a strong position.
You will have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the Information Technology sector, alongside aspects of the creative industries.
You will explore the fundamentals of technology and gain the practical skills, knowledge and understanding to design, make and review various different types of software and hardware technologies. This includes fundamental IT skills, as well as coding, web design, and IT support.
You will have the opportunity to gain a broad understanding and knowledge of the Information Technology sector, alongside aspects of the creative industries.
You will explore the fundamentals of technology and gain the practical skills, knowledge and understanding to design, make and review various different types of software and hardware technologies. This includes fundamental IT skills, as well as coding, web design, and IT support.
You will be assessed with a combination of assignments, on-line tests, practical hands-on and work related tasks. The assignments will be assessed by your tutor and moderated by BTEC.
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language), or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification plus the required level of Maths and English/Welsh (1st Language).

Successful completion of the qualification will open up opportunities for progression onto further learning at Level 3, or an apprenticeship or employment.
