The Level 3 Diploma in Digital Technologies is designed to maximise your potential and employability prospects. It is calibrated to enhance your Digital Skills and to provide you with the greatest chance of securing an Apprenticeship or job once the course finishes.

This is a two-year course that will result in you achieving a BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT.

Year 2 of the course is focused on the Enhanced IT programme, which will provide you with additional skills and support with the aim of progressing on to an apprenticeship or a job. This enriched course offers a greater emphasis on employability skills and training, which includes work experience, the classroom-as-job-environment, work-appropriate attire, working in project groups, employer engagement activities, and other similar areas of employability skills.

● Essential Skills Wales Application of Number
● Essential Skills Wales Communication
The BTEC qualification uses a combination of assessment styles to give you the confidence that you can apply your knowledge to succeed in the workplace – and have the study skills to continue learning on higher education courses. This range of vocational assessments – both practical and written – mean you can showcase your learning and achievements to best effect when you take your next step, whether that’s applications to higher education courses or potential employers.

BTEC use three types of assessment – assignments, tasks and written exams. There are four externally assessed exams/tasks in total, spread across the full 2 years.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths or English/Welsh (1st Language), or successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Completion of the full 2-year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in IT qualifies for UCAS points, giving students a wide choice of progression options.

You can go on to university, an apprenticeship or employment and continue to develop your IT career…who knows where it will end?
