Duration | Full Time, This is a 1 year full time course (5 days a week). This is a 40 week programme. 35 weeks will be spent in college for up to 30 hours a week on the main qualifications, while the remainder of the course will be a mixture of work experience and industrial visits. In addition learners are required to complete company work experience placements. The timings of which will be arranged for college half terms. |

Course Overview
The Level 2 Pre-Apprenticeship Programme (Enhanced) is a 5 day a week program, which is a practical and theoretical based course aimed at a Craft and Maintenance route. There is a large emphasis on the practical element with a wide range of Engineering techniques delivered in Mechanical Engineering. Learners on this programme follow the same route as a L2 Apprentice and will gain the qualifications required to enter industry directly at L3 (Day Release Programme).

Work Related Experience.
This practical and theory based pre-apprenticeship course involves the skills and knowledge needed to work in the Engineering sector.
The course requires continual assessment of college based assignments which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the needs of the awarding body.
Additionally, externally set and marked examinations will be scheduled at key stages throughout the course.
Essential Skills will be continually assessed through the duration of the course.

4 GCSE’s at grade C/4 or above including Maths, English Language or Welsh (1st Language) or successful completion of a relevant Full Time Foundation Engineering/Level 1 Qualification, associated Essential Skills and/or Maths and English GCSE C/4
