Course Overview
BII’s Level 2 Apprenticeship framework is aimed at candidates with long-term prospects in the licensed hospitality industry offering progression into leadership and management roles, or who can demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to work and study in order to supplement their existing knowledge.
Candidates will be required to display both practical skills and the associated knowledge in order to complete the assessments. As well as attend college once a month for a number of short courses specific to the qualification.
Unlike many other hospitality Apprenticeships, this BII Apprenticeships is entirely unique as it encompasses units that are specifically designed for the licensed hospitality industry and has the added advantage of the inclusion of the Award for Personal License Holders qualification as well as a wide range of other short courses specifically aimed at the licensed hospitality industry:

● Level 2 food safety in Catering
● Level 2 Health and safety in the workplace
● Alcohol Awareness in hospitality industry
● Drug awareness in hospitality industry
● Customer and drinks service
● Customer service excellent
● Beer and cellar quality (cask and keg)
● Licensed Hospitality operations
● Understanding Business marketing
● Understanding and Selling wine
● Conflict Management in Hospitality Industry
● Personal License Holder Certificate

Open distance learning and work based assessment. Your College Assessor will visit the workplace which must comply with working in a safe environment. Assessments will take place to assess competence and underpinning knowledge.
Candidate must attend monthly short course at Deeside Site to achieve full framework.
On line support is available through a virtual learning environment.
Learning takes the form of a mixture of observations in the workplace, written and oral questioning.
Accreditation of prior learning is also considered, but this can be time bound.
