Course Overview
This covers all the requirements under the approved code of practice for First Aid in the work place and holders of the certificate can use it as First Aiders in accordance with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. Course content includes:
*Accidents and illness
*Resuscitation
*Unconsciousness
*Airways and Breathing Problems
*Circulation problems
*Wounds and Bleeding
*Poisons, Burns and Scalds
*Injuries to Bones, Muscles and Joints
*Effects of Heat and Cold
*Seizures, Epilepsy and Diabetes
*Other Health and Safety Matters
*Accidents and illness
*Resuscitation
*Unconsciousness
*Airways and Breathing Problems
*Circulation problems
*Wounds and Bleeding
*Poisons, Burns and Scalds
*Injuries to Bones, Muscles and Joints
*Effects of Heat and Cold
*Seizures, Epilepsy and Diabetes
*Other Health and Safety Matters
Assessment of theory by 2 multi choice question papers plus practical skills assessments. Please note CPR assessment must be done at floor level.
Ideally you should be a nominated workplace first aider or someone seriously interested in completing comprehensive training in first aid.
It is strongly recommended that holders of the 1-day and the 3-day First Aid at work courses undertake a 3 hour refresher course every twelve months – and then completing full re-qualification training after three years.
