Coleg Cambria Llysfasi will be opening its doors to prospective students this this Saturday June 10th along with hosting its annual sheep shearing competition.

The Open Day will offer an exciting opportunity to explore the outstanding facilities at the site as well as to chat to tutors about the courses on offer including Agriculture, Agriculture Technologies, Animal Care and Forestry & Conservation Management.

Current Coleg Cambria Llysfasi students will also be on hand to show visitors around the site and offer a useful insight into college life.

The Open Day will be held on Saturday 10th June 10am-12pm and visitors can pre-register at www.cambria.ac.uk/llysfasiopenday/

During the Open Day there will be an opportunity to visit Llysfasi Shears, the qualifying competition for the Welsh open circuits that will start at 9am.  The day will see different categories from Junior, Inter, Senior, Blade and Open compete, with prize money up for grabs for each.

The event is open to the general public with free entry for spectators; a bar and food will be available on site.

Dafydd Jones, Agricultural Lecturer at Coleg Cambria Llysfasi who has organised the event said:

“We have been busy preparing for Llysfasi Shears, we have many competing and we will look forward to the event, which promises to be a brilliant day out for all.”
