Ballet Double-Bill

Two recent additions to our eStream online archive of recorded broadcasts should be of particular interest to Performing Arts students – Northern Ballet’s performance ‘1984’ and the documentary ‘Bolshoi’s Babylon’.

Choreographed by Jonathan Watkins and set to an original score by composer Alex Baranowski, also featuring cutting-edge digital technology in the form of video designs by Andrezej Goulding, ‘1984’ is a re-imagining of George Orwell’s dystopian novel that pushes the boundaries of contemporary ballet.

‘Bolshoi’s Babylon’ features unprecedented, uncensored access behind the scenes of the world-famous ballet company during its 2015-16 season, in which the performers and managers attempt to reclaim their reputation after a year of scandal and intrigue in 2013.
