Coleg Cambria student Lauren Evans recently won a freedom themed poetry competition.

In September, the College’s Chaplaincy Team launched the first Coleg Cambria Chaplaincy Poetry Competition. Entries were judged and published by priests at a church in Wales Rev. Manon Ceridwen James and Rev. Peter Walker.

After much deliberation, Lauren was named as the winner and presented with a book voucher for her poem about freedom during Human Rights Week.

Rev. Sally Baird said: “To celebrate the creative endeavour of all the students who entered the competition, their work was displayed as an ebook on the large TV screens across all sites; thank you to the library staff who kindly added in visual images to enhance the poems.”
