Floristry students from Coleg Cambria Northop recently had the opportunity to decorate St Mark’s Church in Saltney for their three-day Flower Festival.
The learners were issued a hymn called ‘How Great Thou Art’ that gave the students inspiration to create floristry designs and work with the words from the hymn which included stars, mountains, trees, waterfalls, sunflower, sun, seasons, love and nature. They even constructed a tree which was 8ft tall with hanging flowers.
Coleg Cambria Floristry tutor, Amanda Ellis said:
“This has been an excellent experience for the learners, giving them a chance to show off their skills and talent. All who participated really enjoyed themselves, especially seeing what other florists and flower arrangers had created in the church.”
“Myself and the ladies of the church could not believe how talented the Florists were” added Lynda Tiplady who organised the Flower Festival.
“Visitors loved to sit in the area with the work of Coleg Cambria learners to take in all the magnificent arrangements as there was so much to see.”Go back
