- Level 1 Strand
Our Traineeship Engagement programme will help you to develop your personal skills and overcome barriers that are preventing you from entering the world of work or securing employment.
We will help you to improve in confidence, gain qualifications, focus on finding a career that’s right for you and improve your literacy and numeracy skills.
You will attend a work placement in an area you are interested in, which will help you identify your career pathway. You will be supported throughout your placement to help you secure employment or an apprenticeship.
The programme will include various workshops that will cover:
Personal & Social Skills
– Confidence and communication skills
– Attitudes and behaviours
– Wellbeing and mindfulness
– Personal resilience
– Transferable skills eg. teamwork, listening, problem-solving
– British Citizenship
– Volunteering and community engagement
– Focus on next steps
– Career Research
– Industry tours
– CV preparation
– Interview skills
– Money management
– Development of literacy and numeracy skills
– Welsh language and culture
– Health and Safety
– Manual Handling
– Emergency First Aid at Work
Once you have successfully completed our Engagement level and you have identified the career pathway you would like to follow through work tasters, you can progress to Level 1.
Level 1 allows you to spend more time in the workplace, gaining experience and developing skills.
If you do not have a GCSEs in Maths or English at grade C or above, the Level 1 strand provides an opportunity for you to complete an Essential Skills Wales (ESW) qualification in these subject areas.
There is also the opportunity to gain a vocational qualification at Level 1 whilst you are in the workplace.
In addition you will receive a non means tested training allowance, help towards travel costs and PPE needed for the workplace.
