Foundation Skills is a course that takes place over 3 days a week and is available at both our Deeside and Yale sites.
If you did not get any qualifications or your grades were lower than you had hoped for, it’s not the end of the world. The Foundation Skills course is here for exactly that reason – to help you get a real idea about what you want to do next; to try different things in college and help you prepare for the way ahead.

- Foundation Skills
Foundation Skills gives young people the opportunity to break down barriers they may have to learn, allowing them to grow and develop; personally, socially and academically, in order to successfully achieve their full potential.
It will help you decide your vocational subjects for the future by offering embedded tasters in lots of different areas such as horticulture, enterprise, art and craft, catering and construction to name a few. As well as helping you to develop skills in communication, teamwork and leadership it will also

help to build your confidence and overcome any anxieties or social barriers you may have. This course offers lots of practical tasks which will also help develop your Maths, English and Digital Literacy skills.
