During this course you will study environmental land based business, estate maintenance, environmental studies, conservation and improvement of British habitats and urban habitat ecology. Across your subjects you will gain a broad base of sector specific knowledge learning about climate change, monitoring plant and animal populations, understanding threats to ecosystems and how animals and people benefit from them, and how to better care for our land, water and air in a more sustainable way. 

You will also have the opportunity to better understand this exciting evolving sector, exploring business within the environment and ecology industry and undertaking valuable work experience allowing you to gain a headstart in your chosen career path.

The excellent college grounds at Northop and extensive links with external employers and conservation projects will give you the opportunity to gain valuable practical skills and insight. Practical skills will be developed for estate maintenance, including erecting fences, maintaining buildings/structures, in addition to ecological surveying of animal and plant habitats and conserving a range of different habitats.
