Coleg Cambria is committed to helping local people acquire the marketing and business  knowledge which will help improve their employers’ triple bottom line.  From April to December the college ran the new Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Foundation Certificate in Marketing course at its Northop site.

All the course’s students, who work locally, attended the marketing lectures and workshops and completed a work-based assignment which gave them an opportunity to apply the practical marketing knowledge they had acquired in class for the benefit of their employer. The assignments, which focused on improving organisational performance through digital marketing, were externally marked by the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the world’s leading professional marketing body. For the second year running, all CIM students at Coleg Cambria achieved the CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing qualification, first time.

Stephanie Littler, CIM Programme Leader and lecturer at Coleg Cambria said:

Stephanie continues: “I personally feel CIM courses are the best marketing courses local people can do. For the past 20 years I have observed CIM courses providing an excellent return on investment for the employer and enhancing the careers and lives of learners. A particularly powerful development is the CIM students’ increased business confidence and improved research and communication skills which in turn can lead to marketing innovations and insight. One Coleg Cambria learner, Alex Bryan, whose recent article on future marketing trends was published via LinkedIn, told me she would not have had the confidence pre-college to write such an article. Furthermore, Brand Recruitment* has found that CIM qualified marketers can earn 10% more than non-CIM qualified marketers. “

Local people can join the next CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing course from 17 April 2018 at the college’s brand new Cambria Business School at its Northop campus, near Mold. It finishes on 5 December 2018.  The college’s other CIM courses, the level 4, CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing and the level 6, CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing for senior marketers run from Cambria Business School too. New courses will start in January 2019 and applications are now being accepted.

Stephanie continues “SEE funding from Europe will be available to North Wales organisations to train their staff in the level 3, CIM Foundation Certificate in Marketing course and the higher level CIM courses which are the Certificate in Professional Marketing and the Diploma in Professional Marketing – until December 2020. Local organisations, from the public, private or voluntary sectors can apply for funding, and if successful, could receive up to a 70% discount off the CIM course tuition fee, the assessment costs and the studying membership of the CIM for the duration of the course.”
