Students from Coleg Cambria have been busy helping out at a local Methodist Church in Saltney.

Painting and decorating learners undertook work experience at the Church and had the opportunity to work from height using mobile scaffolds and ladders to paint the historic building.  They were able to build and dismantle the mobile scaffold and gain confidence in working from an elevated position.

Ffion Richards-Price who benefited from her involvement said:

“This opportunity has been a really good experience, at the beginning nobody liked heights but being able to work at the Church has given us the confidence to work from high up.”

Lecturer at Coleg Cambria Keith Massey added:

“This is the second time in a few months that our students have been out in the community displaying the skills that they have learnt in college.  This particular project at the Methodist Church gave them a hands-on experience of working from height, which is something they will have to do within the industry.

“All of the students displayed professionalism whilst completing the project and I am very proud of every single one of them.  These sort of experiences will prepare them to enter the sector after college.
