Coleg Cambria recently welcomed ex-footballer Malcolm Allen and Elite Referee Dr Neil Hennessy to Deeside Sixth to talk to students.

The workshop recently held for Sports learners gave them the opportunity to hear all about the guest speakers’ experiences within the sport in Wales.  Funded by Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol the workshop was an opportunity to attract more students aged 16-19 to follow courses or modules through the medium of Welsh.

Over 30 learners enjoyed the session and learnt how the Welsh Language had benefited both Malcolm Allen and Dr Neil Hennessy during their careers.

Dr Neil Hennessy who works as Lecturer at the Cardiff School of Sport at Cardiff Metropolitan University said:

“The staff and students were very welcoming.  It was great to see that bilingualism is an important part of college life.  I look forward to welcoming Coleg Cambria students to study with us in the future.”
