Three Wrexham students have recently returned to college following a residential experience at Magdalene College, University of Cambridge.

Lois Darlington, 16, Jake Belton, 17 and Owen Kelly, 16 all from Yale Sixth Form at Coleg Cambria, were amongst 50 pupils who were successful in their application to participate in the annual residential, held for Year 12 students from the college link area of Merseyside and North Wales.
During their time at the College they tasted life as a student at the University of Cambridge, with Magdalene undergraduates on hand to answer any questions and mentor the pupils during their stay. They sampled practical sessions and attended lectures and academic sessions, whilst also having the opportunity to explore the city and enjoyed a sunset punt tour.
Owen who thoroughly enjoyed the visit said:
“It was an amazing experience I will never forget, run by some amazing people.”
Neil Roberts, Deputy Director of Humanities A levels at Yale Sixth added:
“At Yale Sixth we are putting huge efforts into trying to get local students to the top universities. Lois, Jake and Owen are all ex-pupils from local schools (Ruabon, Bryn Alyn and St Joseph’s respectively) and we are very proud of Wrexham students aspiring to be the best.”
