Overview

We are based on the Northop Campus, but our team is made up of learners from various sites across Coleg Cambria. This will be the first time that we compete at elite level in AOC and Natspec competitions.
Last year was our first year of competition at inter college level. Cambria Dragons won seven out of eight inter college competitions in: athletics, golf, football, basketball, fitness, potted sports, archery / outdoor pursuits and throwing. We are planning to continue the inter college competitions in the coming year.

Work

We will offer some of the learners coaching opportunities to work with our team. This will include coaches with a disability and coaches from mainstream courses. We will offer our players the opportunities to develop their umpiring experiences. Also those with an interest in coaching will also be offered the opportunities to play and volunteer at local sports clubs.

Learn

We believe that students studying on all courses at Cambria should have the opportunity to represent our elite teams. We are committed to combining academic and sporting excellence, supporting our students ambitions in the classroom and on the field of play. In our most recent Estyn report, inspectors rated the College as ‘excellent’, making Cambria one of the most successful colleges in the UK, and the highest performing college in Wales. Contact Details

We encourage anybody with an interest in playing sport to participate in our programme. We hold informal trials in sports sessions to see if the opportunity will meet learners needs. We also get referrals from other courses such as traineeships. We offer a recreational team for those who would benefit from a lower level of competition.
