What's on offer to support your health and wellbeing?

Coleg Cambria understands how important health and well being is for our staff and students. The college is very aware of the increase in the amount of people developing conditions such as anxiety, stress, depression and health related diseases. Active Cambria offers opportunities to students and staff to help reduce or prevent these conditions. The activities on offer compliment the work carried out by our student services team, human resources department and lecturing staff.

Active Cambria Mind, Body and Soul sessions
The Active Mind, Body and Soul sessions helped to developed student's and members of it staff understanding towards the importance of being mindful, how physical activity helps the body and how developing the soul can help motivate and improve your own personal growth. These sessions consist of a health and well being talk, complimented by physical activities such as Yoga, Pilates, Dodgeball and Football.

Students and staff can access advice from trained professionals and college champions in health and fitness related issues. The college has trained Personal Instructors and Professionals on hand to advise individuals.

Students and staff can access a wide range of free physical activities provided by Active Cambria to help reduce stress, anxiety and health related disease.

Jane Wilkinson a staff member at Coleg Cambria has been taking part in fitness sessions and said ‘Active Cambria has not only improved my fitness levels but also my well-being, mental health and it has also helped me to manage lower back pain. The activities are ideal for me due to sitting all day and restrictions due to child care before and after work.’

Active Cambria offers rooms at all it’s sites where staff and students can go to have some mindfulness time.
Our student and staff intranet offers fact sheets to improve health, diet, sleep and fitness levels and a physical activity card pack.
